Vilsack is out!
DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack said Monday that he will not seek the chairmanship of the Democratic Party.Citing his responsibilities as governor, Vilsack said "these challenges and opportunities require more time than I felt I could share. As a result I will not be a candidate for DNC chairman."
Earlier this month, Vilsack, an ally of failed presidential nominee John Kerry, telephoned several Democratic National Committee members, seeking advice and asking them to temporarily withhold endorsement of any candidate.
The 400-plus DNC membership meets in February to select a replacement for Terry McAuliffe, who is not seeking another term.
I bet Pelosi and Reid are pissed that Kerry convinced them to make public statements endorsing Vilsack. Oops! Who will Kerry tell them to endorse next? And will they fall for it again? To be continued.
