It's progressive vs reactionary, not liberal vs conservative
Every single day, Republicans force Democrats to say that they aren't liberals. Meanwhile, they proudly claim to hold the conservative values of "middle" America. It's time that Republicans had to defend themselves and say "I'm not a reactionary" the same way Democrats who are progressives more than liberals have to keep saying "I'm not a liberal" over and over again.
Repeat after me, and spread the word:
We're not liberals or conservatives any more, just progressives and reactionaries.
n. A person who actively favors or strives for progress toward better conditions, as in society or government.
re·ac·tion·ar·y
An opponent of progress or liberalism; an extreme conservative.
Words and their connotations matter. I think we can all agree, as Kos has said before:
Our mistake, as a party, has been our willingness to play within our opponents' frame, rather than building our own.
