Bait and switch?
Is it just me, or does it seem awfully coincidental that these stories about Bush and the National Guard are being focused on by the media at exactly the moment when voters are deciding if they want John Kerry as their nominee? My guess is that Kerry knows this and his people are driving the story, planting the leads and doing what they can to push this. Let me explain.
Democratic voters, who still don't know much about Kerry or Edwards, get all worked up about the scandal and vote for Kerry the Vietnam vet as the perfect foil for Bush and his supposed duty-shirking-ways. They'll imagine they have the perfect gimmick to win the White House back in 2004. As soon as Edwards withdraws, the charges against Bush start to fade away, just like they did in 2000, and the $200 million dollar Bush war chest unleashes on Mike Dukakis' lieutenant governor faster than you can say: Dubya
