No on recall, yes on Arnold?
Wow. I guess that Cruz was right. Too bad Davis never supported him. On second thought, maybe the association with Gray is what cost him. A million people who voted against the recall did not vote for Cruz Bustamante in case the recall was successful. If they had, this would have been a hell of a lot closer. Why would you oppose the recall, but not vote for Bustamante? It looks like 300,000 voted against the recall, but for Arnold. Another 300,000 voted against the recall, but for another liberal candidate besides Cruz. A final 300,000 voted against the recall, but for no replacement at all. Did the first group figure that as long as there is gonna be a change, it ought to be a big change? Did the second group just not want Cruz as governor? Did the third group see Davis's cold shoulder to Cruz and miss the point about voting "No on recall, yes on Bustamante" here? Oh well, that's California politics for you.
