"Pretty damn eloquent" 2004 summed up in 60 seconds
I dug up this clip from back in 2002 over at c-span.org and you should really click here and take a minute to watch it.
Edwards: Thank you Admiral, for sharing your message with us. As I listened to you and to CeCe and to Lisa earlier today, I couldn't help but think as we say back home, "The Lord is in this place." Mr. President, I heard a story recently. I think it's appropriate for these times. The story goes like this. President Lincoln at the hieght of the Civil War was meeting with members of the clergy. At the end of the meeting one of the clergymen said to the President, "Mr. President, let us pray that God is on our side." President Lincoln hesitated for a minute and then he said, "I'm sorry. I can't do that, but what I can do is pray that we're on God's side." Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor and privilege to present to you the President of the United States.Bush: (Not realizing the microphone will pick him up). Pretty damn eloquent!
If you ask me this shows you exactly why an Edwards vs Bush match up is our best shot to expose Bush as the half rate politician he is, and give him the boot.
