UIUC Journalism students name Deep Throat
Some enterprising journalism students at my Alma Mater say they have figured out who Deep Throat was, the infamous Nixon whitehouse insider who helped Woodward and Bernstein expose the Watergate scandal. From their site:
After a four-year investigation, students at the University of Illinois have determined the identity of Deep Throat, the most elusive, anonymous news source in history: Fred Fielding, deputy counsel to former President Richard Nixon — not Patrick Buchanan, as speculated in a Dateline NBC report last year.
In other news, Senator Rick Santorum has not, I repeat, has not yet issued a statement comparing Fred Fielding to a long list of assorted criminal perverts or sexual predators, for choosing such an innuendo-laced, non-standard sexual practice-promoting code name.
