For the most part, this survey of the delegates does not seem very useful to me, even if I was one of the people that they surveyed. But this part did catch my eye:
As for the convention process, it brought many new delegates into the hall -- 57% of our sample had never attended a convention as a delegate or alternate before. But they average more than 20 years of activity in party politics.
That's right, as John Kerry might say, I was literally "still in diapers" when most of these people got started in politics. Needless to say, I'm guessing there won't be too much hip-hop playing at all these various events. It's interesting that the College Dems convention in Boston overlaps with the national convention on Monday. If young people were really more a part of the process, we wouldn't need two convention the same week, there'd be enough of us there already.
